2 days to X'mas...

Had dinner with my parents & granny after work yesterday.

Dad picked me up at my office and then proceed to pick my granny up.

We went to Shatin Kitchen ( 沙 田 小 厨 ) located at Geylang Lor 27. The dishes on menu wasn't alot...guess there's only about 10 dish per side...yes..the menu is only 2 sided. But its all expensive stuff like "Buddha jump over wall", "abalone", "Shark's Fin soup", and many more unusual canto cuisine. No wonder my aunt like this place cause some of the dish cannot be found in normal canto restaurant.

We ordered "盆菜"， apparently in Hong Kong...its a big metal basin...layered with many ingredients like chicken, duck, sea cucumber, prawn, abalone, cabbage, etc....and its best if you have about 10 pax..so that u can finish it...haha...but this version comes in a claypot and super small......looks more like "一品锅" we can find in many zhichar place. But the taste is not too bad.

I ordered a "Braised Lamb"...my dad & my favourite...lamb was tender but guess we dun like the gravy.

Then we had "Braised pork with yam" & "Spring roll" & vege....the spring roll was quite good...not like the usual but with very light and crispy outer layer and the filling have diced mushrooms, carrots, prawn, scallop...yummy~

My mum ordered a dunno-wat-nest to try...the "nest" was deep-fried wonton skin and the filling was made of egg white, minced scallop and lobster. Anyway...it tasted like fish paste with edd to me...hahaha.

On the whole...dinner was good and we left satisfied..hehe















Wohoo~....................I've recovered from the horrible flu and stuff...juz before X'mas...so happy~
Meaning I can get to see Jen's baby...hehe...couldn't go see coz didn't want to infect the newborn..hehe
