Wild Honey @ Mandarin Gallery

Heard alot on this place and was quite skeptical at first as the reviews I read was quite bad on their service.

I went on a Tuesday n the place wasn't crowded, think only three tables were taken.

Service wise was ok. But it e pricing was a little steep for breakfast-all-day but considering e quality n venue..ok lar

Ramen Santouka + Cafe Iguana

Received a sms from Kim asking if interested for a drink with Christine...so rare....thus I agreed to meet them..haha~

Decided to try out this new ramen shop at Central.

The ramen is nice and firm, liked the soup-base, chosed SHIO Soup. reasonable slices of char siew and I like the half fat half meat...making the meat melts in your mouth.
Both the gers ordered the Salmon rice and both said that the rice is good!!

Went over to Cafe Iguana opposite Central for the Happy Hour!! Ordered 2 jugs of house magarita and corn chip + calamari....

Got a surprise while we were chatting at Cafe Iguana, fireworks...

Been quite sometime since the 3 of us met up together...caught up abit and we'll meet up in 2months to update on our lives...haha~

Adeline's Belated Bday - Chatterbox, Mandarin Hotel

Happy Belated Birthday ADELINE!!!

Well...as we grow older, arranging for a day to meet up is really a tough one. Given that we have 2 baby in tow, 1 mum-to-be.....

This is one chicken rice that I would never return as I find it totally atrocious to pay $21 for chicken rice. I can have equally or better chicken rice for less than half the price..haha~
To be fair...the quantity and quality of the food is quite ok and for the ambience(38th floor of Meritus Mandarin)...think the price is quite ok.

The Seafood International Mkt & Resturant

BF's family was in town over the weekend and being unable to bring around during working hours...haha....brought them to have dinner at East Coast, Playground (ex-Big Splash)

The whole place was revamped and there's lots of eateries and cafes to chill-out...provided you drive.

The first time I ate at this seafood place was after Emily's wedding where the couple gave us(bro & sis) a treat. And I found the food quite ok.

The prawn sashimi was a nice surprise as we seldom have that in most places in Singapore...even jap restaurant only serves amaebi prawn raw.

The sauce that came with the prawn sashimi was similar to thai green chilli.

I strongly recommend the Thai-curry crab with garlic bread. Although mantou is the more preferred choice of s'porean....but I personally think that the thai curry goes super well with the well-toasted garlic bread.
The you-tiao with sotong paste was crispy and not soggy with oil like many other place.

Brought BF's siblings to Long Bar for Singapore Sling.
The live band was good and friendly too...came ard to chat with us.
Thanks to Richard for picking the tabs for us...so paiseh~

Curry Favor

Curry Favor @ Novena Square, Level 3

Went for a back & shoulder massage @ Novena with Joz and decided to try out Curry Favor.

Chose the Curry Buffet as we wanted to try out more variety of their food.
They only served Chicken Curry, Mushroom Curry and beef Curry for the buffet. We got the Chicken & Mushroom Curry. The chicken curry was quite good, the chicken bits was tender and succulent. Joz liked the mushroom curry more coz of the abundance mushroom in the curry.

Food we ordered
'*' means its recommended by both of us

(STARTERS )
Mushroom Fry マッシュルームフライ
*
Potato Salad ポテトサラダ

(MAINS )
Tempura Mix 天ぷら盛り合わせ - alittle too oily
Ebi Fry (Prawn) エビフライ
Hire Katsu (Pork Fillet) フィレカツ - tender but we prefer Rosu Katsu
Cheese Katsu フィレチーズカツ *
Rosu Katsu ロースカツ *
Croquette コロッケ *

(CURRY )
Stewed Curry シチューカレー

(DESSERTS )
Mochi Ice-Cream 餅アイスクリーム *
Cut Fruits フルーツ
Dessert Of The Day
The serving was according to the number of pax and it worked well for us, considering we both are small-eaters.
When we sat down, there was only another 2 table of people. But by the time we finished, the place was pretty much packed. That's when the service dropped. Forgot our 2nd order of mushroom curry and serving the dessert first.
Overall, a nice place with nice curry. Next time we will try the main menu after our next massage session.

Female bonding~

Wow......females can really talk for a long long time....
We met up for Dim Sum lunch at Yan Palace around 11am and adjourned to Canele and stayed till 6pm before we made our way home.

Canelé Pâtisserie Chocolaterie

Indulgz

Met up with ex-colleagues for dinner and gossip session.
After reading not bad review on Indulgz, decided to head there for dinner.

Indulgz

Well...I personally think they food there is so-so.
The miso chicken pasta I had is too salty and not much of miso taste.
I think the crispy pasta and baked pasta tasted alright.
The dessert was nothing to excite about.

Maybe I should go and try another day with fewer people.

Kitchen Mogu Mogu

Went to this new place at Far East Plaza for lunch.
Wanted to have lunch at Cedele but passed by this cute place and wasn't crowded so went to try.

Ordered our food through the kiosk located at in the store. Quite a new idea to place order.

I ordered the Fluffy Teddy Bento and my fren ordered a Teriyaki bento. The teddy bear was made up of two prok cutlet and pork floss on the rice for the face. The pork cutlet was tender and not dry.

Think it would only appeal to the female population as the portion is TOO small for guys.

Tom Ton

Tried the Long Board (sushi & sashimi) & the Tom Ton set.

The sashimi and sushi were very fresh. The mixed fried fish, ebi, pork cutlet & rose set was tender and delicious. Price range is alittle high. this meal cost $104.

Our seat overlooked the Singapore River. Nice setting, good quality food~

木柵.貓空的邀月茶坊 - 台北

Nice place to chat over tea and tibits with a group of friends.
Unless you drive, if not its more advisable to go in the afternoon as there are public transportations. Best time to go is during autum/winter where weather is alittle cooler.

You can either bring-your-own snacks or order the snacks from the teahouse.

Cause 貓空 is a mountain, along the way, there are many other teahouses and cafes which you can try. The lastest attraction is the 貓空 cable-car, therefore the weekend crowd is horrible.

禾豐日式涮涮鍋 - 台北

Was introduced to this shabu-shabu place when I went to Taiwan last year. After eating there once, I made it a point to return for a meal whenever I'm in Taipei.

The quality of the food is really good and fresh. The seafood & meat combo and the sliced duck breast is superb!! Each meal comes with a after-dinner drink. The cream on the coffee are homemade, not from the can.

Do make a reservation if you are in taipei.

Food For Thought

.::click above to visit their website::.

420 North Bridge Road
North Bridge Centre #01-06

Came across this cafe some time back while searching for new place to eat. The reviews was quite good and so I finally got to visit this place after Japanese class with Cheryl. Its quite near our school. The cafe was in a not-so-prominent place and we almost walked past it.

We felt really comfortable once we stepped in with the simple decor and friendly staff.

Opted for the Platter for 2 as we wanted to try out a variety of their food. It consisted of a soup for each of us, a salad and 2 choice of sandwiches, tapas style served on a wooden board.

We chose:
  • Mushroom Soup
  • Chinese Chicken Caesar Salad
  • Slow-Roasted Pulled Pork
  • Basil Pesto Chicken

The latter were the fillings for sandwich.

Both of us loved the salad alot especially the crispy garlic slices when eaten with the chicken and lettuce.

The slow-roasted pulled pork with the crispy skin reminded me of German deep-fried pork knuckle only that its paired with BBQ sauce.

Basil Pesto Chicken was alright though I prefer a more robust pesto sauce.

Definitely will go back to try more from their menu.

Most importantly, they are running the business for good causes. Please help support

Botak Jones

Its been a long time since I post on food.

Went to Botak Jones on a rainy evening...Given the weather, the crowd there considered quite good.

Had the sausage, fish & chip, chicken chop and cheese fries.
The serving was considered big for gers....and really stuffed from eating it.

Not bad.....can go back again~

Wildrocket

Venue: Wildrocket at Mt. Emily

After reading many reviews on this place, decided to try it out.
Not an easy place to find but manage to find it

Not in my photo-taking mood so only managed to take photos of the food and not the surrounding.

The food not too bad but a bit atas for noisy people like us...hahaha~
Pricing was alittle high for frequent dining...hohoho~

Bliss Cafe

Date: 13th July 2007

Wanted to try out Bliss Cafe for quite some time but never made it there. When bee said that we are going there for dinner with some of our ex-colleagues, I agreed. It was also to celebrate Andy's birthday.

Atmosphere and surrounding was not too bad...but our group was abit noisy...hehe~

After that, we went to Joey's house to look-see look-see...hahaha~
Talked rubbish and ate tibits there. After which me and sotong went to derrick's place for a drink as it was still early and both of us dun feel like going home yet.

After lazing around, eunice suggested supper and so we went to Macpherson Kopitiam...but realised that the nice "ngoh-hiong" store closed down and had shifted. Then had an unsatifying supper. When we were walking back to the car, we saw a kopi-tiam with the "ngoh-hiong" store name. Shucks, nevermind, we eat the next time.

Osmanthus Honey

Found this baby when I was in Taiwan.
Always like the smell and taste of Osmanthus flower (桂花) , so when I saw this Osmanthus Honey on the shelf...I immediately grabbed one.

Stayed in my storeroom for quite sometime before the idea of making 桂花湯圓 strike me when thinking what dessert to prepare for my dad's birthday. Well...湯圓 has a good meaning and it suits the occassion.

The aroma is so nice and tasty~

Thinking if I could bake cake/muffin with it...
