Before you read on.....I have to admit...."I am a spoilt brat!!!!"......I am not cut out for kelong life...hahaha~Photos here
Went to Kelong over the weekend for 2D1N with my colleagues.
Woke up at 4.30am to get ready. So nice of Winifred to offer ride to her place which is one of the pickup point. Her husband, James, picked joz, ah hock and me.
Left for the second pickup point at serene's plc...Bee also there.
Then all 11 of us, including 2 kids were on our way to Kelong near Sibu Island.
The kids concussed once they were in the mini-bus and the rest of us were either stoning, gossipping or busy snapping photos..haha~
Finally, we had a break where we had bak kut teh for breakfast. I still prefer our version of bak kut teh as I find the gravy/soup too thick and salty to my liking.
After filling our stomachs, we were on our way again~
Finally, we've reached Tanjung Leman Jetty to take a boat out to the middle of the sea where the Kelong is situated.
Culture shock when I stepped into the Kelong!!!!!!
I wasn't expecting it to be as clean or nice as a resort...but had the shock of my life when I saw the beds were OPEN as in there were no partitions and looked like refugee camp. OMG!!
Most of time I was napping coz I'm exhausted from the car and boat ride....motion sickness~
I was practically napping, eating, napping, eating.
Was awake by 3pm to get ready for island hopping. Took a short boatride to a beach near Sibu I presume.
Not too bad...quite an isolated island. As usual, we girls were busy snapping photos and derrick was already in the water. The kids were playing with the sand and water gun. Our dear Joz was busy doodling on the sand with the branch she found. Nice drawings~
After that, we went back to the Kelong and waited for dinner to be served.
The toilet was still acceptable...do not expect there to be flush system...its all natural...directly to the sea...hahahaha~
Food was ok...no tummy upset..haha~
After dinner was the worse as we are "stranded" in the kelong. We played cards, heart attack, mahjong for some, silly games and forfeits. The TV was hogged by other guests watching soccer...idiots.
Anyway, all of us were in bed by 11pm. Chatted and dozed off to sleep.
Was woken up by Derrick at 6 plus in the morning to shoot sunrise. Derrick, James and me waited for an hour before we could see the sun.
After that, breakfast was served and then we all idled around waiting for lunch and the boat back to mainland.
Reached Singapore earlier than expected as there were no jam/crowd at the custom. Lucky!!
