木柵.貓空的邀月茶坊 - 台北

Nice place to chat over tea and tibits with a group of friends.
Unless you drive, if not its more advisable to go in the afternoon as there are public transportations. Best time to go is during autum/winter where weather is alittle cooler.

You can either bring-your-own snacks or order the snacks from the teahouse.

Cause 貓空 is a mountain, along the way, there are many other teahouses and cafes which you can try. The lastest attraction is the 貓空 cable-car, therefore the weekend crowd is horrible.

禾豐日式涮涮鍋 - 台北

Was introduced to this shabu-shabu place when I went to Taiwan last year. After eating there once, I made it a point to return for a meal whenever I'm in Taipei.

The quality of the food is really good and fresh. The seafood & meat combo and the sliced duck breast is superb!! Each meal comes with a after-dinner drink. The cream on the coffee are homemade, not from the can.

Do make a reservation if you are in taipei.

Kelong Trip - 11th August 2007

Before you read on.....I have to admit....

"I am a spoilt brat!!!!"......I am not cut out for kelong life...hahaha~

Photos here

Went to Kelong over the weekend for 2D1N with my colleagues.

Woke up at 4.30am to get ready. So nice of Winifred to offer ride to her place which is one of the pickup point. Her husband, James, picked joz, ah hock and me.
Left for the second pickup point at serene's plc...Bee also there.
Then all 11 of us, including 2 kids were on our way to Kelong near Sibu Island.

The kids concussed once they were in the mini-bus and the rest of us were either stoning, gossipping or busy snapping photos..haha~

Finally, we had a break where we had bak kut teh for breakfast. I still prefer our version of bak kut teh as I find the gravy/soup too thick and salty to my liking.

After filling our stomachs, we were on our way again~

Finally, we've reached Tanjung Leman Jetty to take a boat out to the middle of the sea where the Kelong is situated.

Culture shock when I stepped into the Kelong!!!!!!

I wasn't expecting it to be as clean or nice as a resort...but had the shock of my life when I saw the beds were OPEN as in there were no partitions and looked like refugee camp. OMG!!

Most of time I was napping coz I'm exhausted from the car and boat ride....motion sickness~
I was practically napping, eating, napping, eating.
Was awake by 3pm to get ready for island hopping. Took a short boatride to a beach near Sibu I presume.

Not too bad...quite an isolated island. As usual, we girls were busy snapping photos and derrick was already in the water. The kids were playing with the sand and water gun. Our dear Joz was busy doodling on the sand with the branch she found. Nice drawings~
After that, we went back to the Kelong and waited for dinner to be served.
The toilet was still acceptable...do not expect there to be flush system...its all natural...directly to the sea...hahahaha~
Food was ok...no tummy upset..haha~
After dinner was the worse as we are "stranded" in the kelong. We played cards, heart attack, mahjong for some, silly games and forfeits. The TV was hogged by other guests watching soccer...idiots.
Anyway, all of us were in bed by 11pm. Chatted and dozed off to sleep.
Was woken up by Derrick at 6 plus in the morning to shoot sunrise. Derrick, James and me waited for an hour before we could see the sun.

After that, breakfast was served and then we all idled around waiting for lunch and the boat back to mainland.
Reached Singapore earlier than expected as there were no jam/crowd at the custom. Lucky!!

Photos for HKG/TPE trip

Date: 25th June - 26th June 2007
Venue: Taipei, Taiwan

Chose Jetstar for my SIN -TPE - SIN flight as its the only airline with a decent timing for arrival and departure. First time taking budget airline.......was quite unhappy over the $45 charge for 3KG of excess baggage. And NT$300 plus for 1kg of excess baggage from Taiwan.

Brought my Japanese books and notes to study while on flight as the exam is on 6th August. The sandwich and mineral water cost $10. Haiz...what to do.....should eat inside airport before going on-board. Stayed over at my friend's place before leaving for Hong Kong the next day.

Date: 26th June - 29th June 2007
Venue: Hong Kong

Thai Air for the TPE-HKG-TPE part of my trip.
TPE to HKG quite short...haha.....the stewardess were rushing to serve and clear the meals.

From HK Int'l Airport, we took a cab and headed straight to Disneyland where we'll be staying for the night.

The weather was disgustingly HOT!!!
And the worst part was that the rooms were not ready for check-in and I can't change into clothes to suit the hot weather. Faintz~~
In order not to get tanned with sleeve-mark, i rolled up my sleeves...gosh...so unglam~

As it was the summer holiday, most of the rooms were taken up and we had to stay in 2 different hotel. Tina, her sis and me stayed at Disneyland Hotel while the rest of the group stayed at Hollywood Hotel.

Vivian's visit to Singapore~

**Updated**
Will upload the half of the photos coz I'm too tired and lazy to continue...haha~Here goes...

Vivian and Xiao Qian touched down on Saturday, 16th July.

Met them for abit of shopping and dinner before sending them to take the Night Safari Bus to Night Safari. Didn't go coz there's only 2 complimentary tickets from Joycelyn.

Date: 17th July, Sunday

1) Bak Kut Teh @ Sin Ming Road
Due to their request to eat bak kut teh and if only 3 of us go...sure cannot order alot of food...so I tried to see if kim is interested to join us. We arranged to meet at 10am. Lucky it was drizzling that day so I guess that's why the place wasn't packed. Anyway, we stuffed ourselves silly with the table full of food.....for BREAKFAST!!

2) Malay Heritage Centre
Thanks to Kim and Kris who kindly offered to send us to Arab St....and also accompanied us in the end...haha~
Anyway...the 3 singaporeans end up buying the same amount of tourist stuff as vivian and xiao qian.

3) Little India
After bidding farewell to Kim and Kris, we made our way to Little India with Theresa.
Had lunch and intro naan, prata, thosai and puri to vivian and xiao qian.

4) Henna Tattoo
I finally tried henna tattoo...hehe~
Vivian and me had it on our hand while Xiao Qian had hers on her calf.

5) Clarke Quay + Boat Quay + Esplanade + Merlion Park
Tiring walk!!!

6) Surprise!
Planned a surprise for Vivian as its her birthday~

Date: 18th July, Monday

1) Orchard Road
Brought them to Killiney to have breakfast, the singapore way...haha~
Ordered kaya butter toast, mee siam, nasi lemak and half-boiled eggs
Brought them to walk around orchard road before heading to Sentosa. Had our lunch at Lucky Plaza.

2) Sentosa
Went in Sentosa by cable car. Do not try that, coz the walk from Vivicity to the Cable Car Tower is super far!
Bought the Imbiah Thrill Package which includes Sky Tower, 4D magic show & 2 rides for Luge and skyride. Bee was so happy coz can play her favourite ride twice.
The stupid skyride was scary as usual and it actually stopped for a few seconds while we were hung up high!!

3) Marche @ Vivocity
Left sentosa by SENTOSA EXPRESS which stops directly at Vivocity where we are meeting the girls for dinner.
Chris, her hubby and fren was there early so they got the table. Teresa came quite late as she's working.
Enjoyed the dinner and the chat...haha~
Marche food standard had dropped...the rostti was soggy and I think this new premise is much smaller than the old place.

Bintan - 19th May 2006

**wrote this on the 24th May....and juz realised that it wasn't publish**

Think my mind was too pre-occupied with "dun-know-what" that I made so many blunders and blurness. Felt like banging my head against the wall.

Hahaha...so sorry Anne. Not in my right state of mind.

::19/5/06 ::
Bad spate of luck happened the moment I stepped onto the ferry.
This time, I think there are 2 big group of people (should be some company retreat), and the boarding area was quite packed with people.

After the normal procedure of checking-in and boarding and comfortably planted ourselves to the seat. The door to the ferry closed and I thot the ferry was preparing to move off. Then I thot I heard the door opening. The door really opened and some more ppl got up the ferry.....and I think there were ALOT of late-comers. People keep getting up the ferry and it was way pass the time to set off. I dun mind waiting for all the stupid people to get into the ferry BUT the currents were quite strong and the ferry was unstable. And with my sea-sickness.....I so felt like throwing up. But I managed to psycho myself not too coz I had laksa for dinner and I wouldn't like to puke that out. *GROSS*

Finally the ferry starts to move and then, one "think-he-is-cute" indian guy came over to 搭訕 with an ang-moh gal sitting one seat away from us. So chee-ko and smelly....still act cool.

When we got to Bintan Ferry terminal...coz I forgot to bring a pen along and Anne's pen was out of ink, we couldn't fill in the immigration card...so at the counter...I asked the custom officer if he had a pen...He said no.....WTF...NO PEN......... Nevermind....I turned and asked the lady behind me and she lent me hers. So kind of her...and apparently, she also did not fill the card and ask me...must fill in ah...hahaha. I saw those behind her fumbling for pen and the immigration card...think all of them no fill the card. **faint**

Once we reach Nirwana Garden Resort, Anne went to check in to the room and I went over to see if its possible to book for massage for the night.

I thot we were lucky that we managed to make an appointment for the night. The spa closes at 10pm. So thinking its early...we went to shower and before heading to the spa. When we got there, we were told that they are closing then I realised that I had made a mistake. Bintan is 1hr behind Singapore and plus my 'malfunctioning brain'......I had mixed up the timing.
So we had to re-book our appointment to the next day.

::20/5/06::
Woke up feeling fresh....been quite awhile since I slept so well. Even Anne say I was sleeping well....hahaha~

After brushing and washing, we headed to the coffeehouse for breakfast. Took our time to eat before going back to our room to get ready for a whole afternoon of tanning and slacking.

The weather was sunny and cool....we slacked at the pool...too lazy to walk to the beach. That always happen when I with Anne. Noth of us are SLACKERs....hehehehe~
Suddenly, grey clouds appear and it started to rain!!....dame it...we grabbed our stuffs and ran towards the resturant to take shelter.

Then, we heard something fell and we looked up....saw some debris falling infront of us. A BIG vase upstairs(the lobby lounge) had been toppled by the strong wind. If we had ran faster..we would be hit by the debris.

Feeling bored in our room waiting for the rain to stop and sun to come out...we start to take photos...heehhe~

The sun came out again after an hour and we headed back to the pool.

Teresa and her fren, Lee Lee took the 2pm ferry and came to look for us as we had arranged to have dinner together. It's funny that we didn't have time to meet in Sg but we met in Bintan. We left the pool and went back to bath and agreed to meet at 5.30pm(bintan time).

While waiting for Anne to come out from shower, I took a glance at my hp and realised that we were late...so I hurried Anne, whose still in the bathroom and rushed to the lobby to meet the gers. Then I was feeling funny as the lobby was no crowded with ppl waiting for the shuttle bus to go out to Pasar Ole Ole. Then, I saw the clock at the reception....haha...I saw the wrong time again and its actually only 4.30pm Bintan time. Kana "nao" by Anne...hehehe

Dunno whats wrong with me...keep getting the time mixed up. Went back to our room and ate some snacks and TV watching. Teresa and LeeLee came knocking on our room and said that its drizzling, so we decided to have dinner at the coffeehouse.

Afterwhich, Anne and I got ourselves ready for the massage.

::21/5/06::
Then...its time to leave for Singapore on Sunday....we so dun feel like leaving...sigh~

Day 0

Date: 18th November 2005, Friday
Time: 10.40pm
Venue: Changi Int’l Airport – T2

So sweet of Kris to give me and Kim a ride to the airport because both our brothers were having exams and no one can drive us to the airport. Sigh…got car but no driver~

As it’s still early for checking in, we settled down at Coffeebean for a drink while waiting to pass time. Our flight scheduled at 1am…so after getting our drinks and met up with Christine, 3 of us proceed to checking-in first before waiting for boarding time.

As Christine got her ticket separately from us…they couldn’t allocate us to sit together so for the flight there, Christine gotta sit alone…poor girl…

Anyway, J and Bx also came to send us off…which is good cause Kris don’t have to drive back home alone…

After finishing up our drinks, we headed to the departure gate.

Finally settled down comfortably in our seat, Kim and I start to entertain ourselves with the in-flight entertainment.

Day 1 in Perth

Date: 19th November 2005, Saturday
Time: 5am
Venue: On-flight

Finally managed to doze off but was woken up by the stewardess ready to serve breakfast…shucks!!

Why? ...Because I have difficulty falling asleep on flight…so when I finally can sleep…kana woken up...argh!!!!

Anyway…got to see sunrise through the plane window and it was very nice…managed to take a photo of it while trying not to scare the passenger sitting next to the window. *too bad we din manage to get the window seat...sigh*

Finally, the plane landed in Perth Airport at about 6.10am. As I was sick for a week and plagued with flu and cough and sore throat….
Kim & Christine joked that if I coughed at the custom, they might not let me in to Australia…hahaha…so was trying hard to prevent myself from coughing…
Lo and behold…a little girl in front of us vomited…hah!!

Once we cleared custom and stepped out into the open…we were greeted with cold wind and sunny weather. Lucky we have jackets with us and quickly put it on…while waiting for Ling (Kim’s friend) to pick us up from the airport.

Thank you Ling so much for offering to pick us up so early in the morning and let us use her place to freshen up as we can only check into the hotel at 12 noon.

Feeling refreshed, Ling offered to bring us to
Scarborough beach for breakfast at one of the cafes. We settled at a café called “Bruschetta” for breakfast…quite surprised to find the place crowded by people…coz it’s so early in the morning.

The breakfast served there was great. And most importantly…I had my cup of coffee…hehehe

After breakfast, Ling brought us to Claremount to do a little shopping…and yes…we started our first few hours in Perth shopping…hahahaha

Finally we checked into the hotel and decide to laze around till dinner time where we’ll be meeting up with Kim’s other friend.

After deciding who sleeps where and unload what needs to be unloaded…Christine and I wanted to go for a swim at the hotel swimming pool which is at the rooftop.

When we got to the pool…were quite disappointed by the size and when we test the water temperature…it was icy cold!!!!...and not to mention…the water’s very dirty…with insects floating on the water. I gave up the idea of swimming and instead decided to do a bit of sun-tanning. Christine was brave…she managed to swim for a awhile before she give up…hahaha

After bathing, we got ready and proceed to meet Kim’s friend at a Japanese restaurant called ‘Matsuri’. (www.matsuri.com.au)

The weather was quite cold because of the cold wind blowing at us while waiting for her friends. We walked from our hotel which was at one end of Hay St to the other. Her friend came bringing along with him two other friends…so there are 6 of us. The restaurant deco was nice…full-length see-through glass.

Dinner was quiet because…hmmm…out of 6 people…only Kim know her friend…the rest of us were like strangers…hahaha…think partly because the restaurant was quite noisy…I couldn’t really hear what they were talking about so I concentrated on eating my Katsu Curry Don…price was quite reasonable.

After dinner, we walked around and decide on a café for a drink. It’s a nice café…cozy…think they serve food too…but our stomachs were too full to have any desserts. The name is cute…’No 44. King Street’.

Anyway…it was there that we have more in-depth conversation coz it’s relatively quiet there. There’s Kim’s friend, Minho…his friends, Steve & Boons. They are all currently working and have stayed there for many many years.

I hope Kim never scare them with her loads of questions…hahaha
Guess they must be traumatized by the session…hohoho

They walked us back to our hotel as it was quite late. We took a group photo in the hotel…but the hotel staff has shaky hands and both photos came out blur…Arghhh…*faint*
After thanking them, we parted and went back our room. Pity the guys coz I think they parked their car near the restaurant…now they have to walk all the way back…hehehe

Great knowing you guys… :)
